Henderson Municipal Power & Light (HMP&L) is seeking a Network Operations Technician to provide technical support for the installation and operation of a new Fiber To The Home broadband network. Minimum requirements include: residency within a defined distance from HMP&L; associate degree in electronic communications or closely related field; minimum 5 years work experience in electronics, information technology, or broadband services including LAN/WAN networks, wireless equipment, phone equipment (VOIP and POTS) and/or fiber/copper broadband equipment required; strong verbal communication and troubleshooting skills; ability to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; must pass a drug/alcohol screen, physical exam, and background check upon conditional offer of employment; possess a valid Driver’s License with no DUI convictions in the previous 5 years. Preferred requirements include: related IT or technician certifications. Minimum requirements include: residency in Henderson County; high school diploma or GED with a minimum of one year experience in warehouse and inventory maintenance duties; forklift certification and/or experience operating forklift; familiarity with computer programs including Word, Excel, and accounting software; experience with data entry; possess good organizational skills; ability to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; must pass a drug/alcohol screen, physical exam, and background check upon conditional offer of employment; and possess a valid driver’s license with no DUI convictions in the previous 5 years.
