Henderson Municipal Power & Light (HMP&L), an electric utility in Henderson, Kentucky, is seeking a Communications Technician to perform technical work involving the installation and maintenance of computer-based telecommunications, fiber optics, wireless and wireline systems, and related equipment for the HMP&L Fiber Department.  Qualifications include:  high school diploma or GED; supplemented by eighteen months education and training beyond high school in electronic communications or closely related field; two to five years work experience in electronics and telecommunications installation and maintenance including LAN/WAN networks, wireless equipment, phone equipment (VoIP and POTS), and optical networks or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Requirements include: residency in Henderson County or relocation to Henderson County within an agreed upon time period; a valid driver’s license; and must pass a drug screen, physical exam, and background check upon conditional offer of employment.  Starting annual wage is contingent upon experience, and includes paid vacation, sick leave, health benefits, and other benefits.  Application and detailed job description are available on-line at www.hmpl.com.  All applications must be completed and returned to the Human Resources Department by COB, Friday, 1/24/23.   EEO/M/F/V/D
